Thank you very much for participating in the Artist Talk & HAKOBUNE Roundtable held on March 9!
At first, we expected about 5 or 6 people to attend, but we were surprised to see more than 15 people actually come...! I and everyone at HAKOBUNE were surprised at the larger-than-expected number of participants. Thank you so much to everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to come!
Since there are many aspects of my work that are difficult to understand at first glance, I was eager to have an opportunity for an artist talk, so I asked HAKOBUNE to make it happen. This project was not just a presentation of my work, but an art project that focused on the characteristics of the place, incorporating its historical and social context, and collaborating with a diverse group of people. Because of this, we felt that it would be difficult to convey our intentions unless we put them into words well. Thank you, Nacchan, for your excellent facilitation. There is still so much more to talk about, but I would be happy if anything remains in your mind, even if only a little.
The second part of the HAKOBUNE roundtable discussion originally started when I heard that "HAKOBUNE members are not good at asking for help from those around them. Then I thought, “What if we create a place where people can share their thoughts and feelings with those around them and naturally generate support?” I thought, "Then why don't we create a place where people can share their thoughts and feelings with those around them and support each other naturally?
I believe that we were able to frankly discuss real thoughts and feelings that are usually difficult to talk about, as well as the hardships behind our activities. Issy-san from Kotori also participated as a listener, and I think it created an atmosphere conducive to further dialogue. Thank you very much!
We would be happy if our activities and thoughts could be conveyed through this event, even if only a little, and if it could lead to future activities.
Once again, thank you very much to everyone who participated!
