【トークイベント「こんにちは、清島アパートです。〜2025〜」を終えて とりとめのない感想】
6月8日、別府・カトリック別府教会で開催されたトークイベント「こんにちは、清島アパートです。〜2025〜」に登壇しました。
このイベントは、今年度、清島アパートに入居したアーティストたちが、それぞれの活動や関心について紹介する場として企画されたものです。私もその一人として、自身の制作について簡単にお話しさせていただきました。当日は予想を上回る来場があり、急遽、椅子を追加したり、資料が一時的に足りなくなったりと、少し慌ただしい場面もありましたが、それだけ多くの関心が寄せられていることを実感する、熱のある時間となりました。（しかも、メディア関係者も4社いらしていました！）
プレゼンテーションは1人7分という限られた時間でしたが、自分がどのような関心を持ち、どのような姿勢で制作に向き合っているかが少しでも伝わればと思いながら話しました。
丁寧に企画・運営を担ってくださったBEPPU PROJECTの村田さん、久保さん、そして聞き手を務めてくださった代表の中村さんに、心より感謝いたします！とても良いトークイベントでした！
イベント後は、登壇アーティストやBEPPU PROJECT、勝さんご夫妻と打ち上げへ。その後、なおさんとともに、勝さんご夫妻とゆっくりお話しする時間がありました。
別府で長くアートに関わってこられたお二人から、これまでの経験や土地に対する思い、表には出にくい葛藤などを伺うことができ、とても貴重な時間となりました。現状や問題意識についても共通点が多く、考えている方向性が近いことを実感できたのも、嬉しいことでした！

トークを終え、いろいろな方とお話しする中で、改めて考えたことをここに記しておきます↓↓↓
清島アパートでの暮らしはまだ2ヶ月ほどですが、その短い期間の中でも、地域の方々が日々さりげなく声をかけてくださったり、生活の中で助けてくださったりと、自然なかたちで関係が育まれていることを実感しています。こうしたアートの根づき方をしている場所は、決して多くはないように思います。
その一方で、活動がどのように受け止められ、どのように記録されていくのかという点には、まだ多くの課題も感じています。（そもそも清島アパートに関する資料が体系的に残っておらず、情報も散逸しているのが現状です！😳）
発表の機会があったとしても、批評や記録といった視点が伴わなければ、表現は内側で閉じがちになり、課題も見えにくくなってしまいます。外からのまなざしや言葉が介在しない状態では、活動は次第に孤立し、持続する力も弱まっていくと感じます。
誰かが見て、記録し、言葉にしていくそのプロセスを、発表の機会とあわせて少しずつ取り入れていくこと。その仕組みを、清島アパートでも自分たちの足元から整えていく必要があると、改めて思いました。
これは、大阪・藤井寺で私が運営しているスペース「デラハジリ」でも日々感じていることです。表現するだけでなく、それがどのように読み解かれ、誰にどう届き、どのように次へと手渡されていくのか。その流れを想像しながら、場を育てていくことの大切さを考え続けています。
今回のトークイベントで得られた気づきや対話を、今後の活動の中で活かしていけたらと思います。
別府という場所で、そして土師ノ里との関わりの中で見えてくることに、丁寧に向き合っていきたいです！

On June 8, I participated in the talk event “Hello, This is KIYOSHIMA APARTMENTS -2025-” at Beppu Catholic Church in Beppu. 〜I was a speaker at the “Hello, This is Kiyoshima Apartments -2025-” talk event held at Beppu Catholic Church on June 8.This event was designed to provide an opportunity for artists who have moved into the Kiyoshima Apartments this year to introduce their activities and interests. As one of them, I gave a brief talk about my own work.
The turnout exceeded expectations, and although there were a few hectic moments, such as the sudden need for additional chairs and a temporary shortage of materials, it was an enthusiastic time that made us realize just how much interest there was in the event. (In addition, four media companies were also present!)
Although the presentation time was limited to 7 minutes per person, I spoke with the hope that I could convey, even if only a little, what kind of interest I had and what kind of attitude I had toward the production.
I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Mr. Murata and Mr. Kubo of BEPPU PROJECT for their careful planning and management of the event, and to Mr. Nakamura, the representative of BEPPU PROJECT, who acted as a listener! It was a very good talk event!
After the event, we went to a launch party with the artists, BEPPU PROJECT, and Mr. and Mrs. Katsu. Afterwards, Nao and I had time to chat with Mr. and Mrs. Katsu.
It was a valuable opportunity to hear from two people who have been involved in the art scene in Beppu for a long time about their past experiences, their thoughts on the area, and their struggles that are not always apparent to the public. It was also a pleasure to realize that we have many things in common in terms of the current situation and awareness of issues, and that we are thinking in a similar direction!
After the talk, I had a chance to talk with many people.
After the talk, here are some of the things I thought about again as I talked with various people.
I have only been living at the Kiyoshima Apartments for about two months, but even in that short time, I have felt that relationships have developed in a natural way, with people from the community casually approaching me on a daily basis and helping me in my daily life. I don't think there are many places where art takes root in such a way.
On the other hand, I feel that there are still many issues to be addressed in terms of how our activities are received and how they are documented. (To begin with, there is no systematic documentation of the Kiyoshima Apartments, and the information is scattered! 😳)
) Even if there are opportunities to present our work, if it is not accompanied by critique and documentation, the expression tends to be confined to the inside, and it is difficult to see the issues. Without the intervention of an external gaze or words, activities gradually become isolated and their ability to sustain themselves weakens.
We believe that the process of having someone watch, record, and verbalize the activities, along with the opportunity to present them, should be incorporated little by little. I felt once again that we need to establish such a system at KIYOSHIMA APARTMENTS, starting from our own feet.
This is something I also feel every day at Delahajiri, the space I run in Fujiidera, Osaka. Not only do we express ourselves, but also how our works are read and interpreted, how and to whom they reach, and how they are passed on to the next generation. I continue to think about the importance of nurturing the space while imagining this flow.
I hope to apply the insights and dialogue gained from this talk event in my future activities.
I would like to carefully face what I see in the place called Beppu and in my involvement with Dojinosato!
