アブストラクト・レコードジャケット・ワークショップ、無事終了しました。ご参加いただいた皆さま、ありがとうございました。
アーティストの西端みずほさんとともに、目には見えない「音楽」の世界を、色彩と筆を通じて表現するプロセスを通して体験しました。
ワークショップの冒頭では、西端みずほさんによる、さまざまなアブストラクト技法について 実践を交えたレクチャーが行われました。その後、異なるジャンルの音楽を聴きながら 音を絵に変換する練習を重ね、本番のレコードジャケット制作に取り組みました。

それぞれがオリジナルのレコードジャケットを完成させ、仕上げとしてレコードラベルも作成しました。

The Abstract Record Jacket Workshop has come to a successful conclusion. Thank you to everyone who participated.
Together with artist Mizuhō Nishibata, we experienced the process of expressing the invisible world of “music” through color and brushwork.
At the beginning of the workshop, Mizuhō Nishizato gave a lecture on various abstract techniques, incorporating practical exercises. Following this, participants practiced converting sounds into images while listening to music from different genres, and then proceeded to create their own record jacket designs.

Each participant completed their original record jacket and also created a record label as the final touch.

”安全基地”という心理学の言葉をキーワードに、人類に共通する心の拠り所とは何か考えながらインスタレーションや立体作品を制作しています。

アブストラクト－抽象表現は目に見えないものを表現できるところがその魅力のひとつだと考えています。音は目に見えないけれど、空気の震えとしてたしかに存在し、私たちの精神や身体に何らかの影響を及ぼしています。音（音楽）を聴き、脳裏に浮かんだものを描くも良し。反射的に手を動かすも良し。音を描こうとするときに選びとるもの、それは自分自身の映し鏡となります。自分というフィルターを通して音を表現し、音というフィルターを通して自分が表れる。それによって出来上がるものが、単なる音を視覚化したものに留まらず、音と自分との行き来の間にしか現れない未知なる素晴らしいものになることを願っています。

▪︎下浦萌香（デラハジリ） @moekashimoura @derahajire

共通の目的や地域などによって結びついた人々が集まる場に関心がある。そうした場に刻まれた記憶と、訪れる鑑賞者それぞれが持つ個々の記憶が交差し共鳴する作品を展開している。2021年5月から制作の傍ら、大阪府藤井寺市にてアーティスト・ラン・スペースデラハジリ @derahajire の運営を開始。土師ノ里エリアコミュニティに積極的にアーティストを紹介し、ネットワークづくりや、地域の人々と協働できる機会を提供している。

西端みずほさんとともに、アブストラクトの技法を用い、音を視覚へと変換する試みを行います。音楽の痕跡を物質に刻むように、音が持つ抽象的な質感や感触を探りながら、一つのイメージを形にしていきます。実在するレコードでも、架空のアルバムでも構いません。そこに流れるはずの音を想像しながら、視覚として表現する時間をともに楽しみましょう。

Using the psychological term “safe base” as a keyword, I create installations and three-dimensional works while contemplating what constitutes a common emotional anchor for humanity.

Abstract expressionism is appealing because it can depict things that are invisible to the eye. Sound is invisible, yet it exists as vibrations in the air and undoubtedly influences our minds and bodies. It is acceptable to draw what comes to mind when listening to sound (music). It is also acceptable to move your hands reflexively. The elements you select when attempting to depict sound become a reflection of yourself. By expressing sound through the filter of your own self and revealing yourself through the filter of sound, I hope that the resulting work will transcend a mere visualization of sound and become something wonderful and unknown that can only emerge from the interaction between sound and self.

▪︎Moeka Shimoura (Derahajire) @moekashimoura @derahajire

I am interested in places where people are connected by common goals or regions. I create works that intersect and resonate with the memories engraved in such places and the individual memories of each visitor. In May 2021, while continuing her artistic practice, she began operating the artist-run space Derahajire @derahajire in Fujidera City, Osaka Prefecture. She actively introduces artists to the Tsuchino-sato area community, fostering networking and providing opportunities for collaboration with local residents.

Together with Mizuhō Nishizato, we will attempt to convert sound into visuals using abstract techniques. Like engraving the traces of music into material, we will explore the abstract texture and feel of sound while shaping it into a single image. It doesn't matter if it's an actual record or a fictional album. Let's enjoy the time together, imagining the sounds that should be flowing through it and expressing them visually.
