【ワークショップ終了報告】
「デカルコマニーで遊ぶ、ついでにブックカバーも作る！」が無事に終了しました。
前半は画材の特性を理解するための練習にじっくり取り組み、後半では自由にデカルコマニー技法を用いて制作を楽しんでいただきました。

デカルコマニーは一見シンプルな技法に思えますが、実際に取り組むとその奥深さや難しさ、そして発見の楽しさを実感できます。絵具の特性、厚みや紙の折り方、重ね方によって生まれる多様な表情を体験し、参加者の皆さんがそれぞれの発見を持ち帰ってくださったことが何より嬉しく思います。

制作ではもちろん「自由」を大前提にしつつ、実験を通じた発見の喜び、そして画材や画面との対話の重要性も少しでもお伝えできていれば幸いです。

ワークショップ終盤には、ブックカバーサイズに切った紙にワックスを塗る作業を体験していただき、また、待ち時間には栞作りやパラフィンと蜜蝋ワックスの簡単な比較実験も実施しました。

参加者の皆様の体力とバイブスに支えられ、トータル3時間の充実したワークショップとなりました。今回の学びを次回のワークショップに活かし、さらに内容を充実させていきたいと思います！

2月・3月にはHAKOBUNEでのレジデンスや展示の際にもワークショップを予定しています。そのタイミングでぜひお越しください。

会場は大阪や神戸からのアクセスも良好です。HAKOBUNE ビルの目の前にはゲストハウス「コトリ」 があり、大阪梅田発のコトバスを利用すれば、乗り換えなしでお昼には会場に到着できます。琴平内の移動には便利なmobiも利用可能です。

In the first half of the workshop, participants practiced carefully to understand the characteristics of the painting materials, and in the second half, they enjoyed working freely with the decalcomania technique.

At first glance, decalcomania may seem like a simple technique, but when you actually try it, you will realize its depth and difficulty, as well as the joy of discovery. We were most pleased to see that participants were able to experience the various expressions created by the characteristics of the paints, the thickness of the paper, and the way the paper is folded and layered, and that they were able to take home with them their own discoveries.

While the basic premise of the workshop was, of course, “freedom,” we hope that we were able to convey, even if only a little, the joy of discovery through experimentation and the importance of dialogue with the painting materials and the screen.

At the end of the workshop, participants were able to experience applying wax to paper cut to the size of a book cover, and during the waiting time, we also made bookmarks and conducted a simple comparison experiment between paraffin and beeswax waxes.

Thanks to the stamina and vibes of all participants, the workshop lasted a total of 3 hours and was very fulfilling. We will take what we learned from this workshop and apply it to the next workshop to further enhance the content!

We are also planning to hold workshops during our residency and exhibition at HAKOBUNE in February and March. Please come at that time.

The venue is easily accessible from Osaka and Kobe: the guesthouse “Kotori” is right in front of the HAKOBUNE building, and if you take the Kotobus departing from Umeda, Osaka, you can arrive at the venue by noon without changing buses. 来年2月より香川県琴平で滞在制作を行う予定なのですが、自己紹介を兼ねて、急遽1月8日に「デカルコマニー」ワークショップを開催することになりました。
会場は香川県琴平のHAKOBUNEビルです。HAKOBUNEビルは、ひとりひとりの創造力でRecreation（自発的で遊び心を持った創造的活動）を楽しむ『公園』のようなあそび場。オーナーの銀さんが掲げる「再構成」や「再構築」というキーワードは、私の制作とも共通する部分があり、ご縁を感じています。

今回のワークショップでは、デカルコマニーの技法で偶然が生み出す絵具の形を皆さんと楽しみたいと思います。

また、HAKOBUNEのなっちゃんのご提案により、着彩した紙を使ったワックスブックカバーも作ります。

デカルコマニーで生まれた模様を再構成し、オリジナルブックカバーを完成させましょう。
